Wind, Smiles, and 2,000 Eggs: A Recap of the 2026 Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Not even a biting March wind could dampen the spirits at the Nipmuc High School field this past Saturday. On March 28th, the Upton Men’s Club hosted our Annual Easter Egg Hunt, and while the weather was chilly, the warmth of our community was on full display.

Heroes and Hounds

Our local first responders turned out in style! The Upton Police Department opened up a cruiser for some very curious junior officers to explore, but the real star of the show was Koda, the department’s new comfort dog, who received plenty of pets and ear scratches.

High above the field, the Upton Fire/EMS team flew the American flag from their truck’s boom bucket, creating a patriotic backdrop for the day. Kids had a blast exploring the heavy equipment and bonding with the men and women who keep our town safe.

Memories (and Photos) to Last a Lifetime

Hundreds of eager egg hunters and their families braved the gusts to meet the Easter Bunny. We were thrilled to have Braga Photography on hand again this year, capturing professional portraits of the little ones meeting their favorite seasonal celebrity.

Fun with a Purpose

While waiting for the hunt to begin, the “Event Village” was bustling:

  • Creative Corner: Nipmuc High School volunteers did a fantastic job managing eight arts and crafts stations. Their hard work helped raise vital funds for Fight Like a Kid, a non-profit supporting families impacted by childhood cancer.

  • Sweet Heat: The Upton Bloomers Girls were the heroes of the day, keeping everyone fed with delicious baked goods. They even brought a fire pit to help families stay toasty while they snacked!

The “Great Egg Dash”

The anticipation reached a fever pitch as we split into age groups for the main event. With over 2,000 candy-filled eggs scattered across the grass, the excitement was electric.

When the whistle finally blew, it was a colorful blur of activity! Our youngest hunters were impressively efficient—it took aout 90 seconds for every single egg to be cleared from the field.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

True to the spirit of the Upton Men’s Club, this event was also about giving back. Thanks to the generosity of our attendees, we collected hundreds of non-perishable food items. These donations have already been delivered to the Upton Senior Center, United Parish, and St. Gabriel’s food pantries to help local families in need.

A Huge Thank You

To the families who bundled up to join us, the volunteers who gave their time, and our partners who provided the equipment and entertainment: Thank you. You turned a cold Saturday into a vibrant celebration of community.

We’ll see you at the next one!

Holiday Cheer & Full Plates: A Look Back at Our 2025 Santa Breakfast

 A Morning to Remember

The holiday season is in full swing, and we are still smiling after another incredible Pancake Breakfast with Santa! On Sunday, December 7th, the Upton community joined us at the Fire Headquarters for what has become one of our favorite traditions of the year.

From the moment the doors opened at 10:00 AM, the fire station was buzzing with excitement. Our Upton Men’s Club chefs were kept busy at the griddles, serving up stacks of pancakes to hundreds of hungry neighbors. Whether you preferred them plain, loaded with chocolate chips, or bursting with blueberries, there was no shortage of festive fuel to go around.

The Guest of Honor

The star of the show, of course, was Santa Claus himself. We loved seeing the local children (and even some “big kids”!) sharing their holiday wishes and snapping photos in front of the festive backdrop. Seeing the joy and wonder on the kids’ faces is exactly why we love hosting this event every year.

Community Spirit in Action

This event is more than just a breakfast; it’s a celebration of the community we call home. We want to extend a massive thank you to our partners at the Upton Fire & EMS Department for sharing their space and helping us keep this tradition alive.

Thank You for Your Support

To everyone who attended, donated, or volunteered: Thank you. The proceeds from the breakfast go directly back into the community, helping the Upton Men’s Club fund local scholarships and charitable projects throughout the year.

As we look toward the new year, we are reminded of how lucky we are to live in such a vibrant and supportive town. We hope this breakfast was a highlight of your holiday season, and we can’t wait to do it all again next December!

Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and peaceful New Year!
